Enhanced access

When our surgery is closed you will hear a message telling you to hang up & dial 111. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, continue to call 999.

NHS 111 is a new service that has been introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency.

NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

When to use it

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation.

Call 111 if:

  • you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency
  • you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
  • you don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Accessibility

If you have any special needs please let our staff know so that we can help and ensure you get the same support in the future.

The blue badge scheme is for people with severe mobility problems. It allows blue badge holders to park close to where they need to go.

Loop system

We have a portable induction loop at the reception desk. Please ask a member of staff if you would like to make use of this during your consultation today. For more information on the loop hearing system visit Hearing Link website.
