Late this afternoon we received confirmation of extra vaccine which is to be delivered to us. We anticipate the Tilehurst Vaccination Hub to be the main vaccine hub in Tilehurst in the days leading up to Christmas with clinics being planned for every day covering the period:
Thursday 16th – Friday 24th Dec 2021
The clinics will initially be predominantly prebooked with timed slots however, we will have capacity for walk-ins at allocated times throughout the day. We will publish more information in regards to walk-ins the night before each clinic is being held. We anticipate the capacity for walk-ins to be greater from next Monday onwards and the wait for a walk-in appointment might be long. To speed up the process please ensure you have your NHS number to hand if attending as a walk-in.
We intend to contact all patients who already have a vaccine booster booked with us for after Sun 19th December, to offer them an earlier vaccine appointment. There is no need to contact the surgery requesting this unless you have not heard anything by Sunday 19th Dec.
Routine Surgery Appointments:
Over the next 24-48hours we will be rearranging routine surgery appointments (nurse, hca, doctor) as best we can to enable the surgery to become predominantly a vaccine hub whilst also providing a gp service to our own patients. We will try and offer alternative appointments as much as possible including at our sister surgery – Chancellor House Surgery – which will remain open. We apologise again for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for being understanding given the circumstances.
Traffic:
If attending for a vaccine appointment at the Tilehurst Vaccination Hub, please be mindful of our neighbours and others as to how you park. We would like to openly thank our neighbours along Westwood Road for being very understanding with the increased traffic that will occur.
